Who is Linzey Beister?

Linzey Beister works with men. That is the simplest description of it, and the most accurate. He is a somatic psychotherapist, a relationship mentor and a men’s coach, and the through-line across all three is a belief that most men are not short of information about their lives — they are short of a place to say the true version of it out loud.

At Raahat, Linzey facilitates a small weekly Men’s Circle for local men who want a more genuine space for reflection, listening and meaningful conversation. No previous experience is needed; participants are simply invited to arrive as they are.

Somatic psychotherapy: working with the body, not just the story

Somatic work starts from the observation that difficulty does not only live in thoughts. It shows up in the body — in a jaw that tightens before a hard conversation, in the flat numbness that follows a week of holding it together, in the way a chest closes when someone gets close.

Rather than only analysing what happened, a somatic approach slows things down enough to notice what is happening now, in the room, as it is described. That noticing is often where the actual movement occurs. Insight arrives, but it arrives from a different direction: felt first, understood second.

For men who have spent years being articulate about their problems without much changing, this can be an unfamiliar and useful reversal.

Relationship mentoring

Much of Linzey’s work sits in relationship: with a partner, with children, with friends, with work, and with the man’s own sense of himself. Patterns that feel intensely personal — withdrawing, over-explaining, going quiet, getting sharp — are usually old strategies that once made sense and now cost more than they return.

Relationship mentoring is the practical side of that: naming the pattern, seeing where it came from, and building a more honest way of being with the people who matter. It is less about learning better lines and more about being able to stay present when something difficult is being said.

Men's coaching and men's work

Linzey’s men’s work is the same principles held in a group. Men who would never book a therapist will, sometimes, sit in a circle with seven others and discover that what they assumed was uniquely their failure is nearly universal. That recognition — being witnessed by other men without being fixed, advised or competed with — tends to do a great deal of the work on its own.

He also hosts a podcast, Men on Mission, described as “a conversation with men on how they have become the man they are today” — long-form conversations with men about upbringing, obstacles and the deep work behind whatever success they have created.

The Men's Circle at Raahat

Every Wednesday evening, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Linzey holds a Men’s Circle in the Sanctuary at Raahat Wellness House, Ocean Shores. It is capped at eight men. It is confidential. There is no performance element and no experience required.

Entry is by invitation: Linzey speaks with each man in a short 30-minute discovery call before a first circle, so that the group stays safe and consistent for the men already in it.
