Raj Gurmukhani
Raj Gurmukhani is a Success Coach and the founder of Raahat. He spent two decades starting, running and selling businesses before his own path turned toward yoga, meditation and inner development — and he built Raahat as the place where those two halves of his life meet.
Enquire about a Clarity SessionWho is Raj Gurmukhani?
Raj Gurmukhani is an Australian Success Coach, entrepreneur and yoga teacher, and the founder of Raahat — a wellness house at 13 Goondooloo Drive, Ocean Shores, in the Byron Shire.
His vision for Raahat is simple, and it has not changed since the first room was opened: to provide a safe, elegant space where wellness practitioners can do their best work, and where the local community can gather without noise, hurry or pretence. That means keeping things deliberately small and hand-picked — a handful of practitioners on regular weekly holds rather than a rotating flow of casual bookings, and gatherings capped at eight so everyone in the circle is actually seen.
Two decades in business
Raj describes himself as an entrepreneur at heart. Over the last two decades he has started, run and managed a number of businesses, including founding Smart Solutions IT Services — an Australian IT services company he built and later sold — and owning a Computer Troubleshooters franchise. He has also worked as a buyer’s agent in Australian property.
That operating experience is the backbone of his coaching work. Raj coaches business owners and individuals on the practical mechanics of building something — cash flow, ownership, property and financial freedom — alongside the harder-to-measure parts: leadership, confidence, communication and the internal patterns that quietly cap what a person allows themselves to build. His coaching draws on NLP and personal-development practice as well as lived business experience.
You can review his professional background on LinkedIn.
The turn toward yoga
Success, for a long stretch, was the whole question. Raj spent years studying entrepreneurship, leadership and personal development in the way people do when they believe the next result will finally settle something.
What shifted was not a rejection of that. It was a widening of it. Yoga, meditation and inner work stopped being a recovery tool between business projects and became the thing the rest was arranged around. Raj went to Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas, and trained there as a yoga teacher.
He is honest about where that places him: he is a newer teacher, not a lifelong one. What he brings to a mat is not decades of asana lineage but decades of watching capable people succeed at things that did not make them well — and a conviction that the two do not have to be opposing choices. Inner growth and outer success can be built at the same time, by the same person, without one being a consolation prize for the other.
Raahat Rishikesh Journeys
Having made the trip himself, Raj now offers independent, on-the-ground guidance for Australians heading to Rishikesh to study yoga — the practical, honest advice he wishes every first-time traveller had. Which school suits which kind of student, what a month of teacher training actually asks of you, what to expect of the town, and what to be careful of.
Raahat does not own, operate or guarantee any third-party yoga school, teacher or accommodation in India. The role is independent guidance and student support only.
Clarity Session — 3 hours, $300
Step away from the noise and get clear about where you’re going. A three-hour one-to-one session with Raj designed to help you take a broader view of your life — where you are now, where you want to go, and what needs to happen in between.
It is not about Raj telling you what your life should look like. It is a structured conversation that helps you step outside the day-to-day, think more deeply, ask better questions and create greater clarity around the future you want to build — a clearer vision, a clearer direction, and a practical way forward.
What Raj offers at Raahat
Raj is the person you meet when you first approach Raahat. Practitioners enquiring about the Cabin, Sanctuary or Hexagon come for a short in-person visit with him before anything is confirmed — partly to see the property, mostly so both sides can work out whether it is a genuine fit for a quiet residential street.

- Hosting and curating the practitioner community at Raahat Spaces
- Supporting the local Raahat Gatherings programme
